Client: One of the largest banks in Poland
Industry: Banking & Financial Services
Scope: Strategy, design, development, testing, and rollout of a corporate mobile banking application
Timeline: 7 months planned – delivered in 6
Challenge
In 2016, a leading Polish bank partnered with Neontri to extend mobile services to its corporate clients. While retail customers already had their own app, business users still depended on the desktop channel.
Their main limitations were:
- No dedicated mobile application for corporate clients
- No convenient access to account information on the move
- Transaction authorization requiring separate hardware tokens
- Key banking features available only through a desktop platform
These gaps created friction for business users, slowed daily operations, weakened the user experience, and put the bank at a competitive disadvantage.
Neontri needed to:
- Deliver a secure, enterprise-grade mobile banking app that met strict security and regulatory requirements
- Do it fast, without compromising stability or scalability
Navigating the complexity of bringing more banking services to mobile?
Solution
Neontri developed a fully functional mobile application that gave corporate clients convenient access to essential banking services from their smartphones.
The solution was built on Neontri’s proprietary Enterprise Application Framework (NEAF) – a white-label foundation designed to accelerate mobile banking development for financial institutions.
Core app capabilities included:
- Simplified sign-up: A faster, more intuitive registration experience for corporate clients.
- Biometric and PIN authentication: A secure, convenient way to log in.
- Transaction visibility: Access to transaction history and detailed payment information.
- In-app authorization: Direct approval of transactions, removing dependency on physical tokens.
- Market and currency data: Up-to-date stock market analyses and live foreign exchange rates.
- Desktop banking features on mobile: Key functions now available on the go.
Delivery approach
The project was split into five stages, with 7 months allocated for delivery:
- Scope definition and requirements analysis: Working closely with the bank, Neontri identified critical corporate banking use cases and security needs.
- Agile development in 6-week sprints: The workload was divided into six-week sprints, each targeting specific business functionalities.
- Core feature implementation: Transaction handling, authorization flows, and data access were built and tested incrementally.
- UX and UI design collaboration: Once the application was functional, a specialized design agency joined to refine usability and visual consistency.
- Release preparation and deployment: The app was finalized, tested, and deployed.
The accelerated timeline was supported by reusing custom-built, security-tested components, reducing development time without compromising security or compliance.
